If you are looking for a chocolatey treat that doesn’t feel too heavy, try these vegan chocolate strawberry truffles. They taste rich and decadent and have a fresh strawberry surprise in the middle.
I don’t know about you guys but lately I’ve been eating fresh strawberries from the farmers market every single day. I just can’t help it, they are do delicious and sweet! Here in Berlin they are being sold on every corner too so temptation is everywhere, but I’m totally ok with that.
I brought these heavenly little treats to a recent vegan cooking night hosted by the lovely Tanja (@scorpionmind) and Ferdinand (@vegainsfood) and they were a success among all the other delicious food so I thought I’d share the recipe.
These truffles are so simple to make you’ll want to make a batch every day – although I would not recommend it as they aren’t the healthiest treat. But you have to indulge once in a while, right?

⌁1.5tbsp vegan chocolate spread
⌁1/3 cup cooked chickpeas (canned works too)
⌁154g oreos⌁1tbsp oat milk (or any plant milk)
⌁fresh small strawberries
⌁cacao powder to coat
Skin the boiled chickpeas by pinching them and add them to a food processor along with the oreos, chocolate spread and oat milk.
Process until everything is evenly combined and there are no more chickpea pieces in the mix.
Take a small strawberry with the leaves cut off and form the mixture into a ball around it, then roll them into balls.
Roll the balls in cacao powder and place in a container, leaving space in between the truffles so that they don’t stick together.
Freeze them for 1h to firm up and they are ready to enjoy!
They can be stored in the freezer for several weeks or in the fridge for one day.
Makes approximately 20 truffles.
